Q. What type of treatment is Sheer Smooth Frizz Control?
A. Sheer Smooth Frizz Control is a Keratin treatment. This treatment is a process that smooths and often straightens hair slightly. It involves applying products to the hair, blow-drying it, and sealing it with a flat iron. Keratin is a natural type of protein found in your skin, hair, and nails. Keratin is the protein that helps strengthen hair to prevent breakage, heat damage, and frizz—which is important for maintaining strong and healthy hair. This treatment helps to smooth down the cuticle, sealing it and removing frizz in the process.
Q. Does Sheer Smooth contains formaldehyde or any harmful ingredients?
A. Our Sheer Smooth is Free from Formaldehyde, Carcinogens and Parabens. It uses natural ingredients like Hydrolyzed Keratin, Hyaluronic Acid and Hydrolyzed Collagen to feed the hair nutrients that goes deep into the cuticles. Together with Murumuru Butter, Coconut Oil, Argan Oil, Brazil Nut Oil and Caviar Extracts to protect the hair for a long lasting finish. It is formulated in Singapore and made in Brazil.
Q. What hair type is suitable for Sheer Smooth?
A. Sheer Smooth is suitable for most hair types, except brittle hair that is prone to breakage. Natural curly, wavy, permed, bleached, colored or natural hair can benefit from this treatment.
Q. What kind of Look will you get from Sheer Smooth?
A. The hair will be frizz-free, shiny, effortlessly manageable and soft. If you have natural waves/curls, the wave pattern will also be reduced slightly by 1 to 3 wave patterns. Results can be customized to keep more waves.
Q. How long is the process?
A. The treatment typically takes 2.5 - 3 hours.
Q. Can I still receive this treatment after color/highlights/perm?
A. Yes, you may. Your color/highlights may experience some fading during the treatment. You may color/highlight one to two weeks after the treatment.
Q. Can I wash my hair on the same day? Can I tie my hair?
A. You may wash it on the next day. There is no issue to tie your hair.
Q. Can I swim after doing the treatment?
A. Yes you may, however we advise to wear a swimming cap and avoid getting their hair wet after all chemical services such as Sheer Smooth/Express Frizz Control/color/highlights/perm/hair treatments as the chlorine in the pool will strip the hair, making hair dry and will ruin the condition of your hair. Not wearing a swimming cap after hair color/treatment/Sheer Smooth will also wash your $$$ and time down the drain.
Q. Will Sheer Smooth make my hair straight?
A. If your hair is wavy, Sheer Smooth will make your hair appear naturally straight and healthy. If your hair is very curly, it will minimize frizz while enhancing the appearance of the natural wave/curl. If you have straight, frizzy hair, this treatment will eliminate frizz and promote radiant shine. Expect a reduction of 1 to 3 wave patterns after this treatment that will gradually return as you wash.
Q. How long does Sheer Smooth last?
A. Sheer Smooth Treatment lasts up to 12 weeks with use of Keratin Shampoo that are sulphate free and Keratin rich conditioners. Keratin treatments are cumulative treatments, with use of the proper home care products, you can expect a longer lasting result.
Q. How is Sheer Smooth compared to Express Frizz Control?
A. Sheer Smooth gives a deeper treatment and has a better result in frizz control, shine and manageability. Express Frizz Control is a quick fix for anyone who is short on time and wants to do it immediately after a color/highlight. Both treatment targets frizz control.
Q. How is Keratin treatment different from rebonding/Japanese relaxing?
A. Keratin treatments are milder compared to rebonding which requires hair bonds to be broken in the process and to be straighten. Rebonding is a harsher treatment, it makes hair straight which may look unnatural, especially with regrowth. You may notice a straight line from the regrowth to the area which has been gone through rebonding. One is also unable to perm or bleach the hair after rebonding due to high risk of hair breakage. Whereas with our keratin treatments, you can still color, perm or do light bleaching to your hair. Regrowth is very natural as keratin treatment typically lasts up to 12 weeks or more depending on hair type, lifestyle and home care. You won’t see a harsh straight line with regrowth.
